Privacy Policy & Terms of Use
Last updated: 22 September 2026 · Applies to this website and to enquiries made through it
The short version
- No cookies. This website does not place cookies or store anything on your device.
- No tracking. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no visitor profiling.
- No forms that store data. Nothing you type on this website is sent to a server or saved by us.
- WhatsApp only. The only way your information reaches us is a WhatsApp message that you choose to send.
- Never sold. We do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information for advertising or marketing.
- Your rights. You can ask us what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted, at any time, by WhatsApp.
Part A: Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
This website is owned and operated by LKJ Compassionate Hanz Geriatric Care Facility (“LKJ Compassionate Hanz”, “we”, “us”). We are responsible for any personal information that reaches us through this website.
LKJ Compassionate Hanz Geriatric Care Facility1540 Southern Main Road, Cochran Village, Guapo, Point Fortin, Trinidad & Tobago
WhatsApp: +1 (868) 295-5909 or +1 (868) 396-1806
This website was designed and built by Jamal Samuel, an independent web developer. Because the website collects and stores no visitor information, Jamal Samuel does not receive, see or have access to any information about visitors, and has no access to our WhatsApp conversations.
2. The law we follow
We are based in Trinidad and Tobago. We handle personal information in line with the General Privacy Principles in section 6 of the Data Protection Act, Chap. 22:04. In plain terms, we:
- take responsibility for personal information in our care;
- tell you why we collect information before or when we collect it;
- collect, use or share information only with your knowledge and consent, or where the law allows;
- collect only what we need, and keep it only as long as we need it;
- keep information accurate and up to date;
- protect information with safeguards suited to how sensitive it is, with extra care for health information;
- make our practices public (this page);
- let you see the information we hold about you, and challenge how we handle it; and
- only allow information to go abroad where it is protected to a comparable standard.
Some parts of the Data Protection Act have not yet been brought into force. We apply these principles in full anyway, as our standard. We serve families in Trinidad and Tobago. If you visit from another country, we apply the same standard to your information.
3. What information is handled
| When | What is involved | Does it reach us? |
|---|---|---|
| Browsing this website | Your browser’s normal technical details (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) are seen by our web host and font provider when pages load. See section 8. | No. We do not receive or store this. |
| Using the “How Can We Support Your Family?” guide | The options you tap. They stay inside your browser and are cleared when you leave the page. | Only if you tap “Continue on WhatsApp” and then send the message. |
| Using the contact form | Your name, phone number or email, and your message. The form does not send anything to a server. It only prepares a WhatsApp message on your device. | Only if you send that message in WhatsApp. |
| Messaging us on WhatsApp | Your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name and photo (as you have set them), and whatever you choose to write or send, which may include details about your loved one. | Yes. This is the only way information reaches us. |
What we do not collect through this website: payment or bank details, government ID numbers, passwords or accounts, precise location, or any information gathered automatically about your browsing.
This policy covers the website and enquiries made through it. If your loved one becomes a resident, their care records are handled under the separate written admission agreement, which explains how that information is kept.
4. Health and other sensitive information
Under the Data Protection Act, information about physical or mental health is sensitive personal information, and deserves extra care. So:
- Please do not send medical details in your first message or through the website form. A general description of the support you are looking for is enough to start.
- Where health information is genuinely needed, for example to understand whether we can meet someone’s care needs, we will ask for it directly, explain why, and collect only what is needed.
- If you share information about another person, such as a parent or relative, please do so only if they have agreed, or if you are entitled to act for them (for example, as their next of kin or legal representative).
- The care-needs guide on this website is a conversation starter only. It is not a medical assessment and stores nothing.
5. How we use your information
We use information you send us only to:
- reply to your enquiry and answer your questions;
- arrange visits to the facility;
- understand your family’s situation and discuss whether and how we can help;
- keep a record of our conversation while your enquiry is active; and
- meet any legal obligation that applies to us.
We will not add you to marketing lists, send you promotional messages you did not ask for, or use your information to make automated decisions about you. If we ever want to send updates, we will ask first, and you can say no or stop at any time.
6. How WhatsApp fits in
Every button on this website that contacts us opens WhatsApp. When you tap one, you leave this website and enter WhatsApp, a service run by WhatsApp LLC, part of Meta Platforms, Inc.
- Nothing is sent until you press send inside WhatsApp. You can edit or delete the prepared message first.
- WhatsApp says personal messages are protected by end-to-end encryption. WhatsApp itself still processes some information about your account and use of its service, under WhatsApp’s Privacy Policy. We do not control that.
- WhatsApp and LKJ Compassionate Hanz are each responsible for their own handling of your information.
- Within LKJ Compassionate Hanz, your messages are seen only by the people who manage our two business WhatsApp numbers, and only for the purposes in section 5.
If you would rather not use WhatsApp, you are welcome to visit us at the address in section 1.
7. Cookies and tracking
This website uses no cookies and no browser storage of any kind: no local storage, no session storage and no tracking identifiers. It also uses no analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), no advertising or social-media pixels (such as the Meta Pixel) and no cross-site tracking.
Because nothing is stored on your device, there is no cookie banner to accept or decline. Your browser may keep its own ordinary cache of page files to load them faster. You can clear that in your browser settings at any time.
8. Services this website relies on
| Service | Why it is used | What it may receive |
|---|---|---|
| GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.) | Hosts this website | Technical details such as IP address, kept by GitHub for security and to run the service. GitHub Privacy Statement |
| Google Fonts (Google LLC) | Supplies the typefaces on this website | Your IP address and browser details when the fonts load. Google says it does not use this to build profiles. Google Fonts privacy |
| WhatsApp (Meta) | Our only channel for enquiries | Everything described in section 6. WhatsApp Privacy Policy |
| Google Maps (Google LLC) | Directions to the facility | Nothing, unless you tap “Get Directions”. Google Maps then opens under Google’s Privacy Policy. |
No other outside services, scripts or plug-ins are loaded by this website.
9. When information is shared
We do not share your information with anyone outside LKJ Compassionate Hanz, except:
- when you ask us to, or clearly agree to it;
- when the law requires it, for example a valid court order; or
- when it is necessary to protect someone’s life, health or safety in an emergency.
10. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell or share your personal information. Ever.
LKJ Compassionate Hanz does not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not share it with anyone for advertising, marketing or profiling. This website contains no advertising or tracking technology that could do so.
Some privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), give people the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information. Because we do neither, there is nothing you need to opt out of. If you would like this confirmed in writing, message us on WhatsApp (section 19).
11. Information outside Trinidad & Tobago
WhatsApp (Meta), GitHub and Google operate computer systems in other countries, including the United States. Information handled by those services may therefore be processed outside Trinidad and Tobago, under their published privacy terms and safeguards. We do not ourselves send your information to anyone abroad.
12. How long we keep information
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Anything typed on this website | Not kept. It never leaves your device unless you send it on WhatsApp. |
| WhatsApp enquiries that do not lead to admission | Deleted within 12 months of our last contact, or sooner if you ask. |
| WhatsApp enquiries that lead to admission | Relevant details move into the resident’s care file, kept under the written admission agreement. |
13. Security
On this website:
- every page is served over encrypted HTTPS;
- a strict Content Security Policy blocks scripts from any source other than this website;
- there is no database, login system or form storage that could be breached; and
- external links open safely, without passing information about this website to the sites they open.
For WhatsApp messages:
- our business phones are protected with a passcode or biometric lock;
- WhatsApp two-step verification is switched on for our business numbers; and
- we do not forward enquiry messages to people who do not need them.
No system is completely secure. If we learn of a security incident that puts your information at risk, we will tell you without undue delay and explain what we are doing about it.
14. Your rights and how to use them
At any time, you may ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you and how we use it;
- give you a copy of that information;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, unless we must keep it by law or under an admission agreement;
- stop contacting you, or withdraw any consent you have given; and
- explain or reconsider any concern you raise about how we handled your information.
How: send us a WhatsApp message saying what you would like us to do. We may ask a simple question to confirm it is really you, so that we never give your information to someone else. We aim to respond within 30 days. Making a request is free, and it will never affect how we treat you or your family.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may seek independent legal advice or raise the matter with the relevant authority in Trinidad and Tobago.
15. Children
This website is meant for adults arranging care for older relatives. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has contacted us, message us and we will delete the information.
16. Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboards or magnification. It is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That includes text alternatives for meaningful images, sufficient colour contrast, full keyboard access, a clear heading structure, and never relying on colour alone.
If anything on this website is difficult for you to use, please tell us on WhatsApp. We will fix it, or give you the information another way.
Part B: Terms of Use
17. Terms of use
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
Information only, not medical advice
Everything on this website, including the family resources and the care-needs guide, is general information. It is not medical, legal or financial advice, and it is not an assessment of anyone’s care needs. Always seek advice from a qualified health professional about a person’s health.
This website and our WhatsApp numbers are not an emergency service. In an emergency in Trinidad and Tobago, call 811 for an ambulance, 999 for police or 990 for the fire service.
No agreement is formed through this website
Using this website, or messaging us on WhatsApp, does not create an agreement for care or reserve a place. Admission depends on an assessment of the person’s needs, on availability, and on a written admission agreement signed by both sides. Fees and specific care arrangements are discussed with each family and confirmed only in that written agreement.
Accuracy of information
We work to keep this website accurate and current. Descriptions of services are general, and the support given to any person always depends on their individual needs and care plan. Information on this website may change without notice. If something matters to your decision, please confirm it with us directly.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use this website in any way that is unlawful, harmful or fraudulent; not to try to gain unauthorised access to it or disrupt it, including in breach of the Computer Misuse Act of Trinidad and Tobago; and not to impersonate anyone when contacting us.
Ownership of content
The text, logo, photographs and other content on this website belong to LKJ Compassionate Hanz, or are used with permission. You may view and share links to this website for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce or republish its content without our written permission. Any family testimonials are published only with the family’s written permission.
Links to other websites
This website links to other services, such as WhatsApp and Google Maps. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Using them is subject to their own terms.
Availability
We aim to keep this website available, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. It may be unavailable at times for maintenance or for reasons outside our control, such as a failure at our hosting provider.
Limitation of liability
This website is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, LKJ Compassionate Hanz is not liable for any loss that comes from using, or being unable to use, this website, or from relying on its general information. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. These terms do not affect any rights you have under an admission agreement or under consumer protection law.
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, power or internet outages, or failures of third-party services, including WhatsApp.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute about this website, are governed by the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and the courts of Trinidad and Tobago have jurisdiction.
If part of these terms is invalid
If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect.
18. Changes to this page
We will update this page whenever our practices change, and change the “Last updated” date at the top. Before we ever add any tool that collects information, such as analytics, an online form or online payments, we will update this page first. If a change significantly affects how we handle information you have already given us, we will tell you directly on WhatsApp.
19. Contact us
For any question about this page, or to make a privacy request, message us on WhatsApp. Please tell us what you would like us to do, and we will take it from there.
